You'd probably find a measuring cup somewhere inside your kitchen.

Measuring cups in the United States use the US Customary Units of Volume.

Measuring cups in most countries in the world use Metric Units of Volume. Some of the metric units of volume are:

cubic centimeter cm to the power of 3 - the volume of a cube with 1 cm long sides, . milliliter 1 cm to the power of 3, . liter 1,000 ml.

Wow, that's a lot of units, but it's important to know them!

Let's learn about some of the most common measuring tools.

Centimeter and inch rulers are mostly used for measuring the length of small objects.

To measure the lengths of bigger objects, you can use yardsticks or meter sticks.

If we lined up all of the rulers together, here's what they would look like:

- Small kitchen scales measure weight in grams g or ounces oz.

- Medium-sized bathroom scales may measure weight in pounds  pounds  or kilograms kg.

- Larger scales can even measure in tonnes!
