What Are Halves and Fourths?

Halves

      If you split an apple into two equal parts, each part is a half.

     Equal means the parts are the same size.

👉 Two halves make one whole.

Tip: The plural of half is halves. So if you have one, write half. If you have two or more, write halves.

Fourths

      If you split something into 4 equal parts, each part is called a fourth, or a quarter.

Here'a s pizza split into fourths.

👉 Four fourths make one whole.
