      A pattern is the way objects are arranged, or laid out, based on a rule.

So far, you've learned about repeating patterns.

      In repeating patterns, the terms, or objects of the pattern, repeat over and over.

Add 1 extra heart after each triangle.

Growing Patterns With Numbers

      Every time you skip count, you make a growing pattern.

Counting by 1
0, 1, 2, 3, ...

Skip counting by 2
2, 4, 6, 8, 10...
1, 3, 5, 7, 9...
