Cómo utilizar Go y Do

You'll use the verbs go and do a lot in your life! They're both a little special. Let's learn them.

Los verbos ir y hacer los utilizarás mucho en tu vida. Ambos son un poco especiales. Vamos a aprenderlos.

      Go means to move from place to place.

Ir significa moverse de un lugar a otro.

      Do means to act or finish.

Hacer significa actuar o terminar.

We call them special because they have irregular present and past tense forms.

Los llamamos especiales porque tienen formas irregulares de presente y pasado.

Tip: irregular means not regular.

Consejo: irregular significa no regular.

Here's how you use go in the present tense:

Did you notice that only he, she, and it are different? It uses goes!

¿Te has dado cuenta de que sólo él, ella y ello son diferentes? ¡Usa va!

      Use goes when your subject is one person or thing, and you're not speaking to them. Otherwise, use go.

Utiliza goes cuando el sujeto es una persona o cosa, y no te diriges a ella. En caso contrario, utiliza go.

Adam goes to the gym.

Adam va al gimnasio.

Now, let’s look at the past tense of go. 

Ahora, veamos el tiempo pasado de ir.

      The past tense of do is always did.
