In the last lesson, you learned that sentences have different parts.

En la última lección, aprendiste que las oraciones tienen diferentes partes.

      The subject of a sentence is the person or thing the sentence is about.

El sujeto de una frase es la persona o cosa de la que trata la frase.

      The predicate of a sentence tells what the subject does or is.

El predicado de una frase dice lo que el sujeto hace o es.

Hint: The predicate is everything in the sentence except for the subject.

Pista: El predicado es todo lo que hay en la frase excepto el sujeto.

      Predicates must have a verb.

Los predicados deben tener un verbo.

Let's look at an example.

Veamos un ejemplo.

Jane picked flowers in the garden.

Jane recogió flores en el jardín.

Jane is the subject, and the predicate is everything else in the sentence: "picked flowers in the garden." ✅

Jane es el sujeto, y el predicado es todo lo demás en la frase: "recogió flores en el jardín".
