      Ordinal numbers describe the order of something.

Los números ordinales describen el orden de algo.

In the last lesson, you learned the first ten ordinal numbers. 

En la última lección, aprendiste los diez primeros números ordinales.

Let's quickly review. ⚡️

1st = first 🥇
2nd = second 🥈
3rd = third 🥉

1º = primero . 2º = segundo . 3º = tercero

      Ordinal numbers from 4 to 19 end with -th. 

Los números ordinales del 4 al 19 terminan en -th.

4th = fourth
5th = fifth
6th = sixth
7th = seventh
8th = eighth
9th = ninth

4º = cuarto. 5º = quinto. 6º = sexto. 7º = séptimo. 8º = octavo. 9º = noveno

Tip: It's ninth, not nineth.

10th = tenth
11th = eleventh
12th = twelfth

Note the funky spelling there. We changed 've' to 'f'.

14th = fourteenth

13 = decimotercero. 14 = decimocuarto. 15 = decimoquinto. 16 = decimosexto. 17 = decimoséptimo. 18 = decimoctavo. 19 = decimonoveno

      For multiples of 10, change "y" to "i" and add "eth".

20th = twentieth
30th = thirtieth
40th = fortieth

Tip: It's fortieth, not fourtieth. It's forty, not fourty after all.

For 100, we just add "th" at the end.

100th = hundredth

100ª = centésima

      For the numbers between 20 and 100 that are NOT multiples of 10, you put two words together using a dash (-). 

Para los números entre 20 y 100 que NO son múltiplos de 10, se juntan dos palabras con un guión -.

21st = twenty-first

21 = veintiuno

22nd = twenty-second

22º = vigésimo segundo

23rd = twenty-third

23 = veintitrés

...

28th = twenty-eighth

29th = twenty-ninth

Tip: Only use the -st, -nd, -rd or -th endings on the second word.

So, 71st is seventy-first ✅ not seventieth-first ❎.
