How to Round to the Nearest Hundred or Thousand

In the last lesson, you learned to round to the Tens place.

3 is called our target digit.

To round to the target digit, look at the number to the right of it.

Then, follow these rules:

      If the number is five or greater, we round up 👆.

The rules are the same for rounding to the Thousands place. The target digit just changed.

Rounding to the Nearest Thousand

Our first step is the same: find the target digit.

To round, we will look at the number to the right of the target.

Then, we follow the rules:
